It all started back in 2014 when we began roasting one pound at a time on our kitchen table. We fell in love with coffee after visiting a small farm overseas and started roasting for friends and family. Five years later and we still roast our own coffee, now a bit more in each batch on a bigger machine, just a few miles from our shop in downtown Oakland. We work hard at roasting and brewing great coffee and we work even harder at spreading joy. That’s why we do things like writing custom, handwritten notes of encouragement on every cup and building in a “pay-it-forward” option in our menu. To us, it just makes sense.
We didn’t start roasting coffee just to make coffee.
